<p><em>GB Radio</em> was the short-lived station for Newport (Gwent).&nbsp; <em>GB Radio</em> started in June 1983 and ran into financial problems&nbsp;soon after.&nbsp; <em>CBC Radio</em>&nbsp;- the Cardiff local station -&nbsp;acquired the Newport license in 1985, combined the transmission areas and relaunched as <em>Red Dragon Radio.</em></p></form>

<p><em>BBC Wiltshire Sound</em> started in 1989.&nbsp; In 2002 the frequencies were split and two seperate&nbsp;stations were launched - <em>BBC Radio Wiltshire</em> and <em>BBC Radio Swindon</em>.&nbsp; Today, the breakfast programmes are the only real difference between the two stations.&nbsp; All other programming is shared.</p></form>]]></description>

<p>Centre Radio, launched in 1981, was the short-lived local radio station for Leicester.&nbsp; It closed in 1983 after massive financial problems.&nbsp; The licence was readvertised and awarded to <em>Leicester Sound - </em>which continues to this day.&nbsp; </p></form>]]></description>

<p>The station is called <em>2-Ten</em> because it started on 210m on Medium Wave and was called <em>Radio 210</em>.&nbsp; Was it / is it sensible to keep calling it <em>2Ten</em> nowadays?&nbsp;- hmm...debateable.&nbsp; Because it's been going so long locals will know the name, but the name on its own doesn't say where the station is or what frequency it is on.&nbsp; A competitor in the area has a boring but a possibly more&nbsp;sensible name of&nbsp;<em>Reading 107fm</em>.</p></form>]]></description>
